Who in Cannes does not know Astoux et Brun ?
In Cannes and of course amongst the Cannois, all over the Côte
d'Azur and also in Lille, Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Lyon, Reimsand Paris,
this restaurant is the reference for seafood.
It is the same in many towns in Europe and all over the world, the
Mayor of Moscow, Hollywood stars, financiers from London and Rotterdam
are all loyal customers of the restaurant Astoux et Brun.
The Brun family has successfully combined its gastronomic art
with the world renown of Cannes.
The story began back in 1953.
Marie-Claire and Maurice Brun bought the Astoux et Compagnie
property when it was still a shop (only 32 sq. metres) on the corner
of rue Louis Blanc and rue Félix Faure.
They already had three children, Annie, Jacky and Mireille.
The restaurant then had 4 tables.
Marie-Claire and Maurice Brun then developed the restaurant
with the help of Tati Blanche and the business took off, thanks
mainly to the permanent search for the best possible quality of
shellfish and seafood.
Just like any other company, the restaurant has had its ups and
downs and Jacky Brun took over managing the restaurant in November
1983, during difficult times. He immediately developed the activity
and renown of the establishment.
Mireille, his sister, who came for a two-week visit in 1986, ended
up staying and helping until 1995, when she left Cannes to take
over a restaurant in Mont Ventoux.
In 1969 Jacky married Josianne and had two delightful daughters:
Sandrine in 1970 and Stéphanie in 1973. He remarried in 1996
and his wife Martine still works with him today.
Stéphanie is today chief accountant for the restaurant. Sandrine
and Stéphanie's husbands, respectively Bernard and Pédro,
now work for the restaurant.
Jacky has five grandchildren: Pablo, Mathis, Hugo, Inès and
Mellie.
So the family tradition of the restaurant is guaranteed.
Today, the restaurant Astoux et Brun represents approximately
50 staff, all very attached to the company and all aiming for the
highest quality in their different fields.
The past fifity years at our customers' service have been a
foundation on which we will continue to build, developing and further
establishing our restaurant. It is the pride of its founders and
its employees and a great tribute to the town of Cannes.
